Gema Polanco (Valencia, 1992), focuses her work on installation, integrating textiles, drawing, music, photography and performance. Always in search of new places, alter egos and spaces of possibility that allow us to be who we want to be, beyond the historical and gender heritage that categorises and imprisons us. Her work appropriates and seeks alliances with rock and punk aesthetics, visual culture and the trance generated by music, the rebellious, the spontaneous and the surreal, so that new, honest, accessible and peaceful forms of care are possible.

BA in Photography at the London College of Communication (London, 2015).

Her work has been exhibited at festivals such as Circulation(s) in Paris, PhotoEspaña, PhotoAlicante, Art Nou, Loop Barcelona, Miami New Media Festival and Aragon Park. She has recently joined the DKV and Kells collections. She has participated in exhibitions such as Catarsis. Processes in art, man and nature curated by Alicia Ventura and has collaborated with the Mapfre Foundation with her piece ‘AAAAHH’. The artist is also the founder of the publishing house Navaja Automática.
